On
December 12, 2001, the Canada-U.S. Smart
Border Declaration was signed. This Declaration
outlines a 30-point Action Plan, based on
four pillars (Flow of People; Flow of Goods;
Secure Infrastructure; Coordination/Information
Sharing) to address security risks.
The
Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) is currently
leading the action items for the following
initiatives:

AIR, NEXUS AIR)

Passenger Information/Passenger Name Record
- Ferry
Terminals (Marine Security)
- Harmonized
Commercial Processing (FAST, Marine and
Other Modes)

Data Exchange (Canada/U.S.)

Targeting at Seaports (Vancouver, Montreal,
Halifax, Newark, Seattle/Tacoma)
