Global Logistics Technologies FAQ

What does PBB's Global Logistics Technologies service consist of?

PBB's Global Logistics Technologies service consists of a number of applications, both Web and EDI, which provide the following:

  • e-Query - The ability for Clients to obtain real-time Tracking & Tracing, Tariff, Entry, Billing, Accounts Receivable, Employee Extension, and Customs Exchange Rate information specific to their account via a protected password environment.

  • e-Procurement - The ability for Clients to log on to PBB's website and complete a Purchase Order (P.O.) on-line and email that P.O. to a number of parties within their Supply Chain. The Supplier can then receive that P.O. in an electronic environment, complete the P.O. and ship the goods. If there is a Border Crossing or Customs Port involved than the Supplier would have the ability to drop the P.O. information to an on-line Customs Document and transmit that to PBB for Customs Clearance without having to rekey information.

  • e-Trade Documentation - This includes both a Web solution and an EDI solution for clients to transmit their Canadian and U.S. Customs Documentation information to PBB in an electronic environment.

  • Web solution - Clients have the ability to log on to PBB's website and have access to all of the data that has been preloaded into their account base within PBB's system and pull from this data to complete their documents. This ensures that mandatory Customs Information is provided and provides the ability for a client's multiple vendors or exporting locations with internet access to utilize this application.

  • EDI solution - PBB has the ability to receive Customs information in both an 810 and FTP formats. File Layouts are available at http://ecommerce.pbb.com/ftplayouts.

  • e-Fulfillment - This includes a solution for Clients utilizing a PBB Warehouse and Distribution facility and a Client who utilizes our e-Fulfillment Application in a Virtual sense i.e. handles their own Warehousing and Distribution yet requires an on-line ordering and inventory management system.

  • PBB Warehouse/Distribution solution:

B2B - A web based order entry system that enables companies to place orders direct to PBB's warehouse or offer this same solution to their related stores/locations or customers thus eliminating steps in the supply chain.

B2C - A web based storefront service that allows companies to sell direct to the consumer and provide a credit card payment mechanism with timely delivery to the customer's door.

FTP - Allows clients to transmit their order information to PBB in the internet version of EDI. These layouts are available at http://ecommerce.pbb.com/ftplayouts.

  • Virtual Warehouse solution: A warehouse/distribution provider whether in-house or 3rd party would have the ability to receive their order information via a web based order entry system and would have access to a web enabled inventory management system without having to invest in costly software or in-house programming.

  • Parcel Logistics - Direct merchandisers, cataloguers and e-tailers are provided with a seamless automated service which allows clients to distribute product to customers throughout North America. PBB is able to manage the complete delivery process, including consolidated shipping, clearance and handling of returns via an efficient paperless system.
