Privacy Policy
PBB Global Logistics has always been and will continue
to be, committed to maintaining the accuracy, confidentiality,
and security of your personal and business information.
Technology is changing the way all companies do business
– and changing the way we collect and use information.
Advances in communication technology bring growing
concerns about maintaining the privacy of individual
information. We take privacy concerns seriously and
have been guided by strong codes governing privacy.
We have worked to establish Privacy Principles to meet
legislation and safeguard personal information. As
part of this commitment, we are governed by the Ten
Privacy Principles based on legislative requirements
of Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic
Documents Act.
Principle 1
– Accountability
PBB GLOBAL LOGISTICS is responsible for maintaining and protecting
the customer information under our control. Information we
obtain from client only registration will help us to provide
information on PBB Global Logistics services. This information
may also be used; to conduct industry or consumer surveys;
and to maintain good customer relations.
Access to databases containing customer information is limited to employees who
need it to perform their jobs. In fulfilling this mandate, PBB Global Logistics
has appointed an individual who is accountable for the Company's compliance of
the Ten Privacy Principles.
Principle
2 - Identifying Purposes
The purposes for which customer information is collected shall be identified
before or at the time the information is collected. For customers of our on-line
services, we will disclose how individual customer information is obtained (whether
through customer registration or through automatic means), what kind of information
is obtained, and the purpose for which we use the information obtained on line.
Principle 3 – Consent
The knowledge and consent of the customer are required for the collection, use
or disclosure of customer information except where required or permitted by law.
Customers can also have their names removed from direct mail lists that we use.
The same will be true for e-mail, if PBB Global Logistics decides to use e-mail
to send new product information to its customers. However, we do use individual
customer information internally for our own general marketing and planning purposes,
so that we can develop and market new products and services that meet the needs
of our customers.
Principle 4 - Limiting Collection
The customer information collected is limited to those details necessary for
the purposes identified by PBB Global Logistics. Information is only collected
by fair and lawful means. PBB Global Logistics does not share individual customer
information with persons or entities outside the company.
Principle 5 - Limiting Use, Disclosure and Retention
Customer information may only be used or disclosed for the purpose for which
it was collected unless the customer has otherwise consented, or when it is required
or permitted by law. Customer information may only be retained for the period
of time required to fulfill the purpose for which it was collected.
Principle
6 – Accuracy
PBB Global Logistics is committed to ensuring that the information we obtain
and use about customers is accurate. To that end, we strive to verify that our
customer records are correct.
Principle
7 - Safeguarding Customer Information
We strive to assure that information we have about our customers is accurate,
secure and confidential, and to ensure that our employees comply with our privacy
policy. We never tamper with, intrude upon or disclose the existence or contents
of any communication or transmission, except as required by law or the proper
management of our network. Access to databases containing customer information
is limited to employees who need it to perform their jobs
Principle 8 – Openness
PBB Global Logistics upon request will make information available to customers
concerning the policies and practices that apply to the management of their information.
Principle 9 - Customer Access
Upon request, a customer shall be informed of the existence, use and disclosure
of their information, and shall be given access to it. Customers may verify the
accuracy and completeness of their information, and may request that it be amended,
if appropriate
Principle
10 - Handling Customer Complaints and Suggestions
