PBB Opens 225,000 sq. ft. Logistics Center
Cross-functional facility meets the growing supply chain needs in Canada’s largest market

Fort Erie, Ontario –March 8, 2005 – PBB Global Logistics celebrated the grand opening of its largest and most advanced logistics facility, located in Mississauga, Ontario. The 225,000 sq. ft. center was designed and built to serve the burgeoning supply chain needs of businesses serving Southern Ontario, Canada’s largest market.

“ This is an important milestone in our company’s growth,”said Mike Scott, President and CEO, PBB Global Logistics, to an audience of local dignitaries and logistics professionals. “It greatly strengthens our capabilities and presence in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), while fulfilling a key corporate strategic goal by continuing to integrate the delivery of our full range of related logistics services.”

Nearly 200 employees work from the facility, managing supply chain services that include North American Transportation, Warehousing & Distribution, Customs Brokerage and International Freight Forwarding.  With 200,000 sq. ft. in warehouse space, the facility nearly doubles the capacity of PBB’s previous GTA location.  It boasts 17 docks, a 30 ft. ceiling clearance and racked capacity of 15,000 pallets, along with a state-of-the-art warehouse management system driven by radio frequency technology.

The grand opening ceremony also served as the official launch of PBB’s consolidated North American Transportation service, which encompasses the integrated operations of PBB’s North American Shipping service, Clarke Logistics and Carrier Connection International.  These latter two businesses had both been acquired by PBB within the past two years, increasing the size and scope of its transportation solutions. The North American Transportation service provides transportation management, highway transportation and intermodal services across the continent for a wide range of customers.

“The theme, ‘United with One Focus’, is perfectly suited for today’s event,”said Mr. Scott.  “Our new facility unites 200 employees from three companies and three GTA locations, and it integrates all our service segments under one roof.”

Mr. Scott described how PBB’s integrated approach is increasing in demand in a marketplace where customers are looking for end-to-end supply chain solutions.  Driven by the ongoing globalization of corporate supply chains and the growing complexity of cross-border customs and security regulations, businesses are increasingly turning to single-source third party providers to manage all their global logistics requirements.

The new facility is located at 150-C Courtneypark Drive West, Mississauga, ON, L5W 1Y6.
