2004 H.S. Codes, FDA Requirements and Sailing
Schedules now online
Fort
Erie, Ontario - January 21, 2004 –PBB
Global Logistics’newly updated Canadian
Customs Tariff Search Engine is now online
at www.pbb.com/hsc/hsc.html. This
database features complimentary up-to-date
information on all Canadian Harmonized
(H.S.) codes for 2004, and offers the perfect
resource for traders looking to save time
and prevent potential confusion over tariff
regulations.
PBB strongly recommends that importers review
their H.S. codes on a regular basis to prevent
errors which can result in warnings and fines
under the Administrative Monetary Penalties
System (AMPS) –the Canada Customs and
Revenue Agency's schedule of civil penalties
for non-compliance.
PBB’s tariff search engine also offers
traders the ability to easily access the
codes they require without having to rely
on lengthy printed lists or out-of-date H.S.
code sources. Searchable by product keyword
or code number, the database includes information
on 12 different tariff treatments and features
a faster, more powerful search engine that
produces comprehensive and detailed results.
In
addition to PBB’s regular Web site features,
the company has also added details on the Public
Health Security and Bioterrorism Preparedness
and Response Act of 2002 that came into effect
in early December 2003. The detailed information
at www.pbb.com/fda/ clarifies
the Act’s key components including registration
of food facilities, prior notice, record keeping
requirements and how to appoint PBB as your
U.S. agent.
Members
of the logistics community can also use PBB’s
Web site as a guideline for planning their
shipments by accessing PBB’s 2004 sailing
schedule at www.pbb.com/sailing/.
The schedule provides sailing details on LCL
(less than container load) freight including
both port-to-port and warehouse-to-port times.
PBB’s sailing schedule also provides
details on shipments departing from both North
American and international ports.
