Global Logistics Leader Joins Customs-Trade
Partnership Against Terrorism

PBB Partners with U.S. Customs Service
to Promote Border Security

Fort Erie, Ontario - March 6, 2003 - PBB Global Logistics has established a new working partnership with the United States Customs Service under its Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism program (C-TPAT).

Through C-TPAT, PBB will work closely with the U.S. Customs Service to enhance border security and ensure the continued free flow of international trade. Specifically, PBB will continue its current efforts to secure all company operations against possible compromise, communicate its efforts to business partners, and maintain a high level of compliance in all Customs related areas.

PBB customers will benefit from access to expedited release programs such as FAST (Free and Secure Trade), fewer delays at the border due to Customs inspections and a more favorable position following border re-openings in the event of a shutdown.

"The participation of PBB Global Logistics, and others from the broker and consolidator communities, is but a first important step in what promises to be a sustained effort to meet the challenge posed by the terrorist threat to the United States," said Jim Wiser, Executive Vice-President, PBB Global Logistics. "By working with U.S. Customs Service, PBB contributes to the protection of the border and the facilitation of legitimate trade."

As a member of the C-TPAT program, PBB will participate in anti-terrorism training seminars and best practice sessions, and will share information across various trade security agencies.

PBB is also a member of the Partners in Protection program (PIP), a voluntary program aimed at strengthening physical security in areas of production, transportation, importation and exportation. C-TPAT and PIP have been spearheaded by Customs authorities in both the U.S. and Canada thereby demonstrating the emphasis governments place on security at the border.
