Prestigious Transportation Marketing Award
Honored for Electronic Marketing
by TMCA
Fort Erie,
Ontario - June 14, 2001 - PBB
Global Logistics has received a prestigious
Transportation Marketing award from the
Transportation Marketing & Communications
Association (TMCA). PBB won the Association's "Tranny" Award for
integrated electronic marketing initiatives,
which was recently presented during the
Association's Annual Conference in Jacksonville,
Florida. "It is a privilege to
receive this highly-competitive marketing and
communications award," says John Fergsuon,
Director of Marketing, PBB Global Logistics. "PBB
consistently strives to make electronic media
a key component of our overall marketing strategy.
To receive this recognition from the much-respected
TMCA is a validation of our ongoing efforts." The "Tranny" Awards
Program recognizes best communications practices
in the transportation and passenger transit
industries. It is sponsored by the TMCA, which
is the only association dedicated to exclusively
serving marketing and communications professionals
in all modes in the North American transportation
industry. PBB was an early leader
in integrating electronic media into its marketing
and communications strategy. Its first Web
site, launched in 1996, was highly innovative
with interactive features such as a popular
searchable database of HS Codes and downloadable
ProDocTM trade documentation software.
Today, www.pbb.com remains
a key communication and marketing tool for
the company, offering new and value-added features
to its target market and existing client base.
There's an archive of the PBB Daily News Brief
- the company's informative international trade
and logistics e-zine that's sent electronically
to a growing subscription list. Users can also
request quotes for various logistics services
and can establish a new account with PBB while
on-line. The site regularly garners substantial
media attention and draws measurable results
as a generator of qualified and targeted new
leads. Another factor contributing
to the award is PBB's successful implementation
and communication of innovative e-Business
and digital initiatives. Having identified
key market and industry trends, the company
launched its e-globallogistics.comTM brand,
which includes proprietary e-Fulfillment, e-Procurement
and on-line trade documentation systems. The
company credits these solutions with improving
communication to its prospects, customers and
agents, while promoting the PBB Global Logistics
brand as a whole in an increasingly competitive
marketplace. "Electronic media has
introduced powerful new tools for marketing
and communications professionals," says Mike
Scott, President & CEO, PBB Global Logistics. "PBB
has always been a leader in exploring new opportunities
presented by digital media, and we are very
proud to be recognized for marketing excellence
by the TMCA." The Transportation Marketing & Communications
Association has a long history of serving the
needs of its members. Originally founded in
1924 as a railroad-based organization, the
TMCA today provides value in networking, professional
development, and education. Prior to 1997,
the organization was known as ARAM, or the
Association of Rail Advertising and Marketing.
However, at that time, members voted to broaden
the organization's membership to include communications
practitioners in all modes. Its annual Tranny
Awards are considered among the industry's
most prestigious honors.
