Fort Erie, Ontario - December 15, 2000 - PBB Global Logistics is one of Canada's 50 Best Managed Private Companies, earning the important designation for the second consecutive year. The judging panel cites PBB's continued expansion, commitment to achieving goals outlined within their strategic plan, ongoing service excellence and commitment to technological innovation in once again placing PBB among the elite of Canadian private enterprise.

"Over the last year PBB has carried out a mandate for continued global expansion and service excellence," says Mike Scott, President and CEO, PBB Global Logistics. "New acquisitions, expansion of our North American network, a commitment to new emerging markets and strategic investments in technology have resulted in this honor.

" This prestigious award could not have been possible without tremendous hard work and team effort of each and every one of PBB's valued team members. "It is our employees professionalism, commitment to quality, true sense of teamwork and skillful ability to frequently go above and beyond the call of duty that are the true cornerstones of PBB Global Logistics." Says Mr. Scott.

Award winners are selected after a thorough interview and research process, where companies are evaluated on the quality of their products and services, the motivation of their employees, their commitment to customer service and their ability to implement results-oriented business strategies.

PBB's strategic accomplishments for 2000 include: ·

  • An expanded North American network with new locations in Cincinnati and Columbus, Ohio, San Francisco, Miami and Charleston, South Carolina, as well as the consolidation of three Vancouver locations into a single state-of-the-art logistics center.
  • Expanded service options and capabilities to Latin America, through Houston and Miami, and to Asia with new consolidated services to several Chinese ports. PBB also led a Trade Mission to China in March, linking North American businesses with potential customers and partners. This was the first privately-led mission of its kind.
  • The launching of e-globallogistics.com, a comprehensive portfolio of web enabled logistics applications for both B2B and B2C customers.
  • Enhanced customer service measures including the introduction of a client service call center.
