Fort
Erie, Ontario - December 15, 1999 - PBB
Global Logistics has been named one
of Canada's 50 Best Managed Private
Companies, earning this much-sought
after designation in the annual ranking
of corporations coast-to-coast. The
national award places PBB among the
elite of Canadian private enterprise.
"This
important national achievement reflects PBB's
team commitment to providing quality services
to our valued customers," says Glenn Brown,
president, PBB Global Logistics. "By earning
this recognition, we further our mission
to continually improve by building leading-edge
integrated logistics solutions around the
world."
The "50
Best Managed" national awards program is
a select ranking of hundreds of companies
from across Canada. In order to be considered,
firms must be more than 50% Canadian owned,
have greater than $3-million in revenues
and employ more than 25 people.
The "50
Best Managed" award winners are selected
after a thorough interview and research process,
where companies are ranked by the excellence
of their products and services, the motivation
of their employees, their commitment to customer
service and their ability to implement results-generating
business strategies.
PBB's
strategic plan for future growth was a key
reason for the designation. This plan includes
growing the company through select acquisitions,
enhancing global alliances with major logistics
partners around the world, continuing wide-ranging
investment in technology and furthering a
commitment to new emerging markets including
Asia and Latin America.
A
recent result of PBB's strategic plan is
a privately-led Trade Mission to China in
March 2000, offering participants the unique
opportunity to visit seven major commercial
cities and network with key industry and
government contacts. With the assistance
of the Alliance of Manufacturers & Exporters
Canada and Team Canada Inc., the PBB-led
mission will benefit companies seeking to
access this critical market for the first
time or expand existing trade networks.
The
company also recently launched e-globallogistics.com
(TM) , which enhances its web-IT expertise.
E-globallogistics.com (TM) provides order
fulfillment services in addition to supply
chain management to the growing number of
businesses selling over the Internet.
"With
new service offerings, a growing North American
network, an unmatched pool of knowledge and
expertise, and a pro-active strategic plan,
PBB is well positioned to build on this award," Mr.
Brown says.
PBB
Global Logistics employs more than 1,000
people in 70 locations throughout North America.
It
offers fully integrated global logistics

Forwarding, Customs Brokerage, Warehousing
